spend，可用作名词、及物动词、不及物动词，如：spend some money/some time on sth，spend some money/some time (in) doing sth，spend money for sth。在使用spend时，主语只能是表示人的名词或代词。

spend，英[spend]美[spend]，可用作名词、及物动词、不及物动词，作名词时意为“预算”，作及物动词时意为“度过，消磨（时光）；花费；浪费；用尽”，作不及物动词时意为“花钱；用尽，耗尽”。作及物动词时，只能以人作主语，接名词、代词作宾语;可用于被动结构；spend的宾语后可接动词不定式，表示目的，作状语。

用法：

1、在使用spend时,主语只能是表示人的名词或代词。例如:Andy spent a lot of money on books. Andy花了很多钱买书。

2、spend time/money on sth.在……上花费时间（金钱）.介词on后接名词或代词。例：I spent two hours on this maths problem.这道数学题花了我两个小时.

3、spend time/money (in) doing sth.花费时间（金钱）做某事.介词in可以省略。例：They spent two years (in) building this bridge.造这座桥花了他们两年时间.

4、spend money for sth.花钱买…….例：His money was spent for books.他的钱用来买书了.另外,spend也有"度过"的意思。例如:They want to spend their summer holiday in the country.他们想去乡下过暑假.
